On the side of the Civil War Monument at the Hackensack cemetery in Hackensack, there is a grave plot where men who served during the Civil War and Spanish American War are buried.

The grave directly along side the statue has a name barely readable “Abraham Valentine” nothing else is readable. I have him listed under Spanish American War until we find additional information on his service.  What we do know is that Abraham is buried in the plot of graves reserved for those men who served during one of these two major conflicts in American history.

Let us never forget the servicemen’s sacrifice.
